China or India?

India sounds promising for next year --- why? Because of this TOURIST VISA-ON-ARRIVAL for Philippine nationals. This advisory posted in their embassy website made me really jump in glee when i discovered it earlier. I remember a year ago, when i browsed for steps to do in acquiring a tourist visa to India -- the list was still long.

Now this easy step really is a good news!

Am hopeful. If not next year...maybe the next. ^^

Travel Tuesdays: Trip to Subic, Olongapo City

I have made a few distant travels within the country. And one of that was the trip to Subic, Olongapo City. Aside from the fact that it was my first time to go there, it was unforgetable because of two reasons. One is:

1. It is an EB with Mitch, an online friend friend for seven years. First met her at a forum site. She was an OFW working in Bahrain while I was in China. Feeling the "missing pinas" bug, we tried to find pinoy connection online and thus that ended up in Kuro. She was still single when we met, actually engaged already, and when I made this trip, she already have two lovely girls.

~~ With Derelle and Mitch. Derelle is the first Kuro baby. ~~

~~ With Mel, another Kuro kapatid. ~~

Thanks to Mel, we traveled together to Subic just to have this EB.

We did not have much time to go around the city. It was even a rainy day thus we did not go to the beach. Mel and company went back that late afternoon while I stayed for the night.

The next day, Mitch sent me off at a bus stop so that allowed me to have glimpse of the city, so here are some landmarks that i took:

~~ The Rotunda. ~~

~~ Arlene's Inn ~~

I find this building interesting because it stood between narrow roads. So i personally call it a junction inn.

To me, these two places are visible landmarks that if I ever travel alone to Olongapo to Mitch, house, I can still make it. After getting off at this bus station, I will go and take a colored trike that will go to Sta. Rita. There is one color that is routed to Sta. Rita. I forgot it now but i know if i will see one, I will surely remember it.

2. Second reason why this Olongapo Trip was unforgetable, it's because this allows me to meet my son @ SM Pampanga after not seeing each other for nine years:

Circumstances does not allow me to be with him daily since August 2000. We met once the next year after that but he cannot recognize me. But this time, when we met, he was already big enough to recognize that am his mom. (after of course introducing myself to him) lol!

Unforgetable trip, indeed!

Tuesday Travels: My Favorite Hangout

At last i can join this meme now from a really "travel blog". I was suppose to make this post last night but it got too late and I was not even done with many posts (backposting)

Anyway, I am sure to love this meme as my foot gets itchy when i can't travel even to nearby places. Travel destresses me and even a quick trip to Cagayan de Oro can give me that "oh am moving forward" feeling. I love the feel of me in a moving bus or train or any vehicle. It awakens my depressed soul. It excites my nerves and i get time to think of what's beyond the horizon.

So today, let me share with you some photos of my favorite spot to hangout when i we go to La Estrella Beach Resort. Been there twice within the span of four months. My daughter and I spent some 12 days there during the Christmas holidays and then some 6 days during the Easter holidays.

I love spending time at the gazebo to watch the sunset or just plainly enjoy the beauty of the sea. The 12 days spent there last Christmas allowed me to see 12 daily moods of the skies and seas. It was a wonderful thing to behold.

More photos at the resort:

views like this on a morning means it's a beautiful sunny day.
Together with the blue sky is the green and clear waters that covers the white sand when it is high tide.

Sunset shot while taking a rest at the gazebo

There are two hobbit houses in the resort and it is always booked all year round. Many guests booked this accommodation a year before they come as many wanted to stay there. Last December i was wishing, we could try it, to feel the coolness of the air conditioner, and that wish came true during the Easter holidays. :) (maybe it will become one of feature in my future entries)

When am over with the view of the skies and seas, this is my another fav place to hang out. Why? Because i love taking photos of the orchids/flowers.

Here's to all of you!

This place is a natural paradise and i think you can agree with me. Anyone of you who loves the beach and underwater adventure, then this is one of the best places to visit.

Happy Mid-week. ^^8^^

Michael Grosberg of Lonely Planet

The Core Group of the Iligan Bloggers Society had a Strategic Planning this past weekend. Meeting started at 3 pm Saturday and ended Sunday afternoon. They started early and i was to follow later after the sun has set. Because i was missed the afternoon topic, i also missed meeting and had a photo with Mr. Michael Grosberg of Lonely Planet. He is one of the writers of Lonely Planet, the largest travel guide book in the world.

I don't have any copy of this very informative book but i had the chance to read one when i was still in China and it was owned by one of the teachers in my school.

I bet any one that travels world wide was able to read one Mr. Grosberg's writing.

I'd like to share this photo that i makes me wish am also with them:

I am sad i missed this once in a lifetime opportunity. But hopefully he will come and visit Iligan City again.

Disclaimer: this photo is not mine. It is a property of the IBS.

Leaving a trail on the Sea -> Off to Bohol for Christmas Holidays!

Leaving Cebu City behind...

Cebu coast

December 21, 2010. 8:30 the ferry left Cebu Pier. We were bound for Tubigon, Bohol.

It was a morning of blue skies with just enough white clouds.
